THE THEATRE
Port Stanley Festival Theatre is a registered not-for-profit charity that owns and operates a theatre facility located on the picturesque harbour on the north shore of Lake Erie. PSFT regularly produces a six-show Summer Season from late May till mid-September, five-seven self-produced shows in the off season, March break and summer theatre camps, and rentals from October-April.
The building includes:
The Grace Auditorium {202 seats} used for PSFT programming and rentals.
Rehearsal hall.
Fully equipped shop, offices, dressing rooms, Palmer Room, lounge}, bar, and patio.
Port Stanley Festival Theatre owns the entire building and houses 3 tenants: Elgin County Library, Lake House Books, Unicorn Tattoos .
THE CANDIDATE
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the Operational Management, overall financial and administrative management of Port Stanley Festival Theatre and are responsible for:
- Providing regular financial updates
- Preparing annual operations budgets
- Reporting to the Artistic Director for monthly Board reports
- Overseeing the annual Audit, maintaining a healthy cash flow, and ensuring strong financial accountability
- Leading donor stewardship opportunities and Federal, Provincial and Municipal Grant writing
- Engaging public interest to ensure the continued support and growth of PSFT
- Arranging housing and billets for all seasonal staff
- Additional duties as required
The Operations Manager is accountable to the Artistic Director and will help to manage long- term strategic goals of the organization, in a manner that moves the theatre’s mission forward and ensures the company remains a resilient and sustainable organization.
KEY COMPETENCIES include:
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILTY- Holds financial responsibility for all aspects of the theatre and the building.
PLANNING, ORGANIZING, and MANAGING TIME and PRIORITIES- The ability to identify top priorities, anticipate outcomes and risks, and establish appropriate courses of action.
TEAMWORK AND DIPLOMACY- The ability to treat others fairly while facilitating and supporting the professional growth of others and achieving business results through teamwork.
PERSONAL ACCOUNTIBILITY- Being accountable for professional and personal actions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in Arts Administration, Business Administration, or appropriate equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ arts management experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Facility Manager, Theatre Manager or Operations Manager in a performing arts facility
- Passionate about the performing arts
- Strong knowledge of the not-for-profit professional arts sector
- Well-developed ability to complete detailed tasks with high accuracy
- Ability to utilize administrative software to produce accurate, concise reports both technical {financial, sales, etc.} and business {written analysis and recommendations}
- Ability to utilize theatre-specific software to ensure ticket sales processes and reports are completed promptly and accurately.
- A financial manager with experience in budgeting, reporting, and overseeing an annual audit
- Valid driver’s license and Smart Serve training an asset

Box Office Attendant Job Posting (Seasonal Part-Time)
The Port Stanley Festival Theatre is seeking a Box Office Attendant to join our team for our 2026 Summer Season. As this position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs grant program, candidates must be under the age of 30 to apply. Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: Minimum wage ($17.60/hour)
Reporting to the Artistic Director and the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Attendant is responsible for ensuring that the box office operates efficiently in its day to day operations including sales and cash handling. In addition to answering questions about the theatre, its events and programming, the Box Office Attendant will also provide advice about restaurants, parking, tourist attractions and accommodation to inquiring patrons. The tasks and responsibilities of the Box Office Attendant include:
Financial:
– Selling subscriptions, tickets and other theatre services through digital point-of-sale system
– Manage box office funds including cash, debit, credit and online sales and provide reports to account for funds and their reconciliation.
Interpersonal Skills & Contacts:
– Establish and maintain relationships with co-workers, volunteers and patrons.
– Provide positive customer service to patrons by responding to their inquiries in a timely manner both in person and by telephone.
– Update and maintain customer and patron database including contact information and other special notes
– Contact patrons by phone to update on performance information including cancellation
Problem Solving & Judgement:
– Evaluate problem situations to determine resolutions and alternate arrangements.
– Analytically and thoroughly gather data to support and/or help make decisions.
– Take initiative to determine the best option to solve problems as they arise.
Information Resources:
– Produce memos, emails and reports to communicate essential information
Knowledge & Experience:
– Experience working with electronic ticketing systems.
– Working knowledge of cash handling and accounting procedures
– Good typing skills and familiarity of Microsoft Office.
– Able to work, both, independently and as a team.
– Always display a professional attitude and maintain confidentiality
– Excellent communication and customer service skills including telecommunication skills.
– Outstanding interpersonal, time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
– Strong multi-tasking skills, including, great attention to detail.
- Assisting with loading in and out set pieces from the carpentry and paint shops to the theatre. Must be comfortable with moderate to heavy lifting and climbing of stairs.
- Assisting with assembly of sets on deck including installation of flats and risers. Experience with power tools an asset. Knowledge and experience in constructing and assembling sets including flats, risers and other standard set pieces an asset. Comfort with working at small heights on ladders (under 10 feet) an asset.
- Efficient worker with time management skills comfortable in a team environment, and following instructions with minimal supervision
- Safety shoes required, other equipment including hardhat, work gloves and drill an asset but not required as can be provided by the theatre
